Introduction to KIPS

KIPS is a leading professional organization in the information society.
Today KIPS provides membership services to promote innovative technology in the information-processing area.
KIPS focuses on services specifically designed for members, such as promoting research activities and collaboration among industry, academia and research institutes. It also supports the internationalization and standardization of information processing technology. KIPS invites computing professionals and students working in the various fields of information-processing technology to join this society.

Membership and Qualification

KIPS offers several membership types : special membership, honorary membership, regular membership, associate (student) membership, and institutional membership.

The membership qualifications are as follows:


1) Special membership
corporations or organizations that meet the objectives of this society and contribute to information processing or other related disciplines


2) Honorary membership
individuals who have made a significant contribution to the society and attained a high reputation in the research area


3) Regular membership
individuals who have bachelor's or higher degrees in information processing and related disciplines or those who have worked more than two years in the area of information processing


4) Associate (Student) membership
undergraduate or graduate students who are currently studying information processing and related disciplines


5) Institutional membership
university libraries, research institutes, or nonprofit organizations
